The control ward
Your vision, and none of theirs, where it matters.

« Fascinating little gadget: it lights your side and switches their wards off. One every back, set where it survives, then clean up what it reveals. »
- Bought on your back
You come back from base with a control ward. By the dragon, their ward watches your jungle entrance.
- It shuts their ward down
You place it at your jungle entrance, by the pit. It reveals their ward and shuts it down: they see nothing there anymore.
- Destroy what it shows
You kill their ward. The entrance is lit for you, and dark for them.
- They see it: protect it
A control ward is visible to them. One comes to clear it, finds you and your jungler next to it, and turns back.
- The classic mistake
You drop it deep on their side of the pit. They see it, walk up and clear it right away: the gold is gone, and your vision too.
When to do it
- Every time you go back to base: if you have none, buy one.
- An objective is coming up: one around the pit takes their eyes off it.
- They always see you coming: one at your jungle entrance shuts down the ward watching it.
How to keep it
- Place it where it lasts: your jungle entrances, around the next objective, on your side.
- Destroy the wards it reveals: shut down, they still come back if you walk away.
- Protect it: they can see it. Stay close when they come for it, and it stays.
The tip for your rank
One habit: every back, if you have none, buy one. Put it in the river bush by your lane, or near the dragon.
Place it where it survives, on your side of the next objective, then kill the wards it shows you.
Use it to own an area before an objective: their side of it goes dark while yours stays lit, and they walk in blind.
